Based in Austin, Texas, Van Redin travels the world shooting photographs of actors and their surroundings during the production of films. His photos are used for publicity and promotion of the films, such as the posters displayed at cinemas. Van Redin graduated from Stephen F. Austin State University in 1975 with a bachelor?s degree in communication/photojournalism degree after studying there with Dr. Michael Roach. From 1976 to 1980 he worked at the State House of Representatives in Austin as house photographer, then took a position for Glastron Boat Company producing their promotional materials. During the next five years he also shared a studio with well-known Texas photographer Reagan Bradshaw. Since 1986 Van Redin has been shooting publicity stills for major motion pictures including Office Space with Jennifer Anniston, Enough with Jennifer Lopez and Rushmore with Bill Murray. Van Redin has also shot stills for Gods and Generals, The Apostle and Lord of the Rings: Return of the King.
