Emily Gould: Re-defining Attention-Deficit Disorder
Written by madBADcat · May 29, 2008
I personally think that the editors of the New York Times Magazine were ill-advised if they concluded that an essay by blogger Emily Gould would tap them as "cool". If anything, her essay voiced the concerns of a self-involved, self-centered brat that she was misunderstood. I think most people understood her pathological need for attention and were disturbed by it.
Sadly, Ms. Gould didn’t seem to learn that begging for attention from strangers by revealing naughty bits best left to herself is not going to garner acceptance. Though it has rewarded her with high profile jobs. I guess that was always the point.
